Our inspiring story

After surviving a traumatic accident that resulted in the loss of my leg, I experienced firsthand the physical, emotional, and financial realities of limb loss. As a veteran, a therapist, and an amputee, I learned that even simple things—like buying shoes—suddenly became complicated. Amputees are often forced to buy two shoes when they only need one. It may seem small, but it reflects a larger issue: systems that were never designed with us in mind. The Single Sole Movement was created to change that. By collecting and redistributing single shoes, we restore dignity, reduce waste, and help amputees move forward—one step at a time.
